Executive Director, Living Computer Museum

The Executive Director (ED) will lead the Living Computer Museum as it continues its evolution as a unique interactive experience with computers that shape how we interact with the current systems of today. This position will provide the leadership for the daily operations of the Living Computer Museum (LCM) while enhancing museum programs, exhibitions, and events that support the mission, vision and goals of the collection. In this role the ED will partner with various affiliate personnel to ensure finance and operations are effectively managed, and are of the highest quality while enhancing the guest experience.

Sr. Vintage Hardware Restoration Engineer

This position reports to the Vintage Computing Engineering Manager and will have responsibility for hardware restoration of a variety of vintage computer systems. The LCM maintains some 60 different types of vintage systems from mainframes to personal computers in operational state and available for museum visitors to use. The LCM engineering team is responsible for the restoration and maintenance of the machines. The team has just finished a major restoration of a Digital Equipment Corporation PDP10 KI system and is embarking on a significant restoration of a Control Data Corporation 6500 supercomputer. These restorations include repair/restoration of hardware, development of emulators where needed and the development of “programming elements” that enhance the visitor experience.

We are currently looking for Hardware and Software Engineers to assist us in the restoration and maintenance of the following systems. You must have had direct experience working on these vintage systems and available to consult on a part-time basis.
